GENSHI:TOY is an indie designer-toy label and the proud home of two intergalactic misfits — the Broken Heart Robot and Kricky the Alien Frog. We dream up original characters built for the indie-art & urban-vinyl crowd and the soft spot in everyone's heart.
Founder Craig Anthony Perkins — composer, photographer, filmmaker, designer and longtime video-game character-wrangler — got the itch to pour everything he knew about characters into something you could actually hold. The urban-vinyl scene was exactly the ticket.

Built without a purpose.
Searching for one anyway.
On his home planet of Xerbix 319, the Broken Heart Robot rolled off the line as one of the rare few built without a purpose. Heartbroken, he fled into the galaxy to go find one.
He's drifted past countless planets, moons and asteroids — and finally clanked down on a tiny blue planet called Earth. He still hasn't found his purpose… but he just might find a few new friends to help him look.

Hatched on Planet R-bit — officially R.ib.bit, third planet on the left from Xerbix 319 — Kricky is one of a zillion-gajillion frogs popped out of the legendary Frogatorium Emporium.
When a strange metal beast with a broken heart crash-landed and kicked off a planet-wide panic, Kricky had a sneaky hunch this "Broken Heart Robot" was harmless. So he hopped aboard the ship (okay — stowed away) and rode shotgun through two whole solar systems before they face-planted on Earth.

Back in 2006, Craig sat down with Cartoon Network — and a little later, Disney TV — both itching to turn the Broken Heart Robot and Kricky into their very own animated series. Sadly, the deals fizzled out: neither studio could quite live up to the vision Craig had for his misfits. But the story isn't over… tests are now underway for a possible stop-motion short film!

A composer, photographer and filmmaker with years in the video-game trenches dreaming up characters — and a serious soft spot for misfits. He founded Genshi Media Group in 1995, then a decade later, in 2005, spun up GENSHI:TOY as its designer-toy division to chase one question: what if the characters you love could sit on your shelf?
